Activity

Taking into account our three main and other secondary pillars of activity, we are active in the following sectors:

I. SUPPORTING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION

  1. Promotion of the Scandinavian countries in Central and Eastern Europe and promotion of Central Europe in the Scandinavian countries

Scandinavian Foundation deals with the promotion of Scandinavian countries in Central and Eastern Europe. Promotion is made by supporting cultural events, exhibitions, books, films, and common social behavior. We also promote the culture of the societies of Denmark, Sweden and Norway, as well as Finland. We take part in numerous initiatives leading to development and promotion by tightening cooperation between the Scandinavian countries and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

Our activities also concetrate to promoting the countries and societies of Central and Eastern Europe in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.

Similarly to the activities mentioned above, we care for the development of the culture of Poland and neighboring countries.

  1. Conducting workshops, trainings and lectures

We organize numerous trainings and workshops. All classes are conducted by experienced and competent teachers and trainers. Education focuses on increasing knowledge and competences in a specific thematic area.

Classes are also conducted with the use of active methods. Knowledge is transferred to a wide range of participants through exercises, active and interesting field activities. Participants also have the opportunity to expand their knowledge by exchanging experiences with other training participants.

  1. Promotion of entrepreneurship among young people

The Foundation develops programs aimed at promoting entrepreneurship among young people. We organize trainings, workshops and specialist meetings for future and current entrepreneurs. We promote conscious entrepreneurship among young people. Our projects concern the development of entrepreneurship and business management. We also provide information on financing startups.

II. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

  1. Counteracting the effects of climate change

Heatwaves, fires, hurricanes, floods and storms, plus serious economic costs – climate change is a reality. The climate crisis affects all of us. No wonder then that in key sectors of the economy, ways are being sought to limit its effects. Therefore, our economy is facing enormous challenges, even a complete remodeling of the pattern of its functioning. Currently, three areas need to be reconciled: ensuring business continuity with environmental and economic conditions, which is a difficult and demanding task. And it must not forget about our security.

The Foundation conducts activities aimed at counteracting climate change. For example, we plant trees – we search for suitable places where we can plant new trees. Until today, we have managed to plant several hundred trees. Planting trees helps to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

  1. Business in harmony with the natural environment

Corporate Social Responsibility – CSR sets the path on which more and more companies decide and this is what they base their development strategies on. A concept that takes into account environmental protection and aims to reduce the consumption of natural resources. Implementing the idea of sustainable development in companies and corporations is not only a milestone towards caring for nature, but also a number of other benefits – brand image enhancement or financial savings. The Foundation supports activities for the implementation of CSR in small businesses as well as education and promotion of business activities in harmony with the natural environment.

  1. Actions to increase and improve access to sources of stable, sustainable and modern energy at an affordable price

Foundation supports activities that serve to increase and improve access to sources of stable, sustainable and modern energy, while respecting the natural environment. We draw models from the Scandinavian countries, which are good examples of countries that protect the environment in terms of energy production. We work with local communities in the field of co-financing to create solutions for obtaining energy from zero-emission energy sources.

III. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND RATIONAL MANAGEMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

  1. Increasing environmental awareness

Environmental awareness – is a very important human attitude because the effectiveness of environmental protection depends on the involvement of all citizens in specific activities. It includes, among others, conscious consumption, limiting waste generation and appropriate segregation, saving energy and water resources, reducing the negative impact on air quality. The formation and strengthening of environmental awareness in the society is essential for the implementation of environmental protection standards. Achieving environmental goals depends on the level of environmental competence represented by the society.

The main activities with which we can expand environmental awareness are: press, cultural events, organization of workshops, training courses, distribution of materials and instructional videos.

  1. Nature protection – on the example of reducing the amount of plastic in the environment

We are proactive in supporting legislative solutions to reduce plastic consumption in the environment.

We do not focus on transferring the environmental pressure associated with the production of plastics to another, alternative material and the constant use of huge amounts of single-use products, but on finding solutions to protect the environment.

We also take an active part in cleaning up the world.

  1. Protection of fauna and flora – on the example of bees

Bees are of great importance for life on earth, agriculture and fruit growing. Few people are aware that bees are in danger of becoming extinct. Due to environmental pollution, there are fewer and fewer insects in the world. Bees are the main pollinators of entomophilic plants. The development and growth of plants is not possible without bees.

Along with the development of civilization, there is less and less natural land on which bees could nest. Studies show that in some European countries the number of wild bees has dropped to 80%. This significant decline in the number of bees is alarming.

We conduct activities promoting legislative solutions protecting the above-mentioned organisms. We organize trainings, workshops, field activities, educational trips, which give the opportunity to deepen knowledge related to the protection of bees. There are educational exhibitions on beekeeping. Our trainers provide knowledge on the conservation of pollinating habitats. We create honey-bearing zones, plant fruit trees and take care of orchards.
